Pulled pork has become a true BBQ classic. It takes a little time to prepare, but it's definitely worth it for the taste - especially in the form of burgers! With their subtle flavor, they emphasize the spicy aromas of the low and slow cooked pork. They also go very well with the strong BBQ sauce and look great.


For the typically tender consistency, the pork must be cooked for a long time at a constant temperature. Over this period, the fat and connective tissue of the meat transforms into collagen. This makes the end product uniquely tender and juicy, causing it to virtually fall apart on its own. Did you also get hungry now?

    pork neck (about 2 lb.)
  • 3 Tbsp
    barbecue sauce, divided
  • 1 Tbsp
    Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar

    red onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp
    Dijon mustard

    brioche burger buns
  • 1
    large tomato, cut into 6 slices
  • 3 Tbsp
    barbecue sauce
  • 6
    lettuce leaves

Directions

Heat the oven to 250°F.

Place the pork neck in a roasting pan, then smear it with 1 Tbsp. of the barbecue sauce and the mustard. Season it all over with 1-½ Tbsp. BBQ Allrounder.

Bake for 3 hours, then drizzle vinegar over the meat and cover it tightly with foil. Bake the meat an additional 4 hours or until the meat is tender.

Uncover the meat, then use 2 forks to pull the meat into thin shreds. Place the meat in a saucepan. Stir in 2 Tbsp. of the remaining barbecue sauce, cook over low heat until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Combine the onions, mayonnaise, mustard and 1 tsp. BBQ Allrounder.

Cut the buns in half, then toast the cut sides of the buns.

Spread the onion mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns; top with the lettuce, tomatoes and pulled pork.  Spread the barbecue sauce onto the tops of the buns, then place over the sandwiches.
