Spice up your Carne Asada Tacos!

Ingredients

  • For the Steak

  • 1
    flank steak (1-¾ lb.)
  • ½
    onion, thinly sliced
  • For the Marinade

  • 4 tsp
    JS Fajita (Seasoning Blend)
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 6
    garlic cloves, peeled
  • ½ bunch
    of fresh cilantro
  • 1
    orange, juiced
  • 3
    limes, zest and juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce
  • For Tortilla and Toppings

  • 2 tsp
    JS Fajita (Seasoning Blend)
  • 12
    corn tortillas (6 inch)
  • 2 oz
    queso fresco, crumbled
  • ½ bunch
    of fresh cilantro
  • ½
    onion, finely chopped
  • 4
    radishes, thinly sliced
  • 2
fresh jalapeño peppers, seeded, thinly sliced

Directions

1
Place the steak and onions in a large bowl.
2
Blend all the Marinade ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Pour the marinade over the steak and onions, then turn the steak and toss the onions to evenly coat them with the marinade.
3
Refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
4
When ready to serve, heat your outdoor grill, grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade; discard the onions and marinade.
5
Add the steak to the grill; cook 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until the steak is cooked to medium doneness. Transfer the steak to a cutting board, then let it stand for 5 minutes.
6
Use a sharp knife to cut the steak across the grain into thin slices, then cut the steak into bite-size pieces. Place the steak in a serving bowl, then drizzle it with any reserved meat juices.
7
Top the tortillas with the meat and remaining toppings just before serving.
Tip: For more flavor, top the tacos with guacamole and/or pico de gallo before serving.
